I waited too long to find the courage to do what my heart told me, I was 40 before I discovered that fear is a liar and sometimes what you think is going to be scary is amazingly simple and easy…. DIY paint is easy to layer and distress, no sandpaper needed, just a clean damp cloth.

I do this by applying a light mist over my whole piece which mimics the tonal change I will get when I apply the wax. Your piece will not end up this dark but the water will give you a sneak peep into the blend that you have created. This layer will mostly be hidden when we are all done but that does not mean it's not an important layer. For this client, we are creating a bold but still rustic and somewhat distressed paint finish. If temperatures fall below freezing, and in order to ensure that your receive your paint in good condition, DIY paint will ship on Mondays through Wednesdays only, via Priority Mail.

If you have ordered other non paint products in the same order, your entire order will be shipped at the same time. DIY Paint is a water-based paint that if allowed to freeze will lose it's properties. As we approach the winter season, I will be very selective in how and when I ship your paint orders.

After your basecoat is completely dry we are gonna start getting serious about where these colors are gonna go. Now in this piece, I am creating a light base and getting progressively darker.
